I have been rocking the same pair of gloves for years. They're so battered and worn the Velcro have finally given up and peeled off and the leather feels stretched and warped. The timing was impeccable. It was like the motorcycle Gods had known what I needed and brought Viking Cycles to me.
I am already a fan of Viking Cycles. I have two jackets from the company that I love. When the company approached and asked me to review their gloves, I was delighted.
To be honest, even after receiving a pair of their sporty and sleek perforated leather gloves to try, I was stubborn and tried to rock my old gloves and put off doing my review. Going on long rides as well to events I wanted to stick with what is familiar for safety reasons. Finally my gloves gave up and they had to be retired. It was time to bring out the Viking Men's Perforated Leather Gloves.
What was my Initial thought when I tried them on?
WHAT TOOK ME SO LONG TO TRY THESE MAGNIFICENT GLOVES?!
Fit & Fashion
Man, these gloves are so sleek, comfortable, and well made. They're similar to what I had been using but in a more fitted and sexy finish. These are men's gloves that I had gotten in small and I felt they look and feel great. Overall look can be great for men and women.
As quoted from the website, "the glove is made from 100% genuine leather with gel padded palms, velcro closure and perforated design for added comfort and ventilation. The glove has touch-screen friendly tips and to ensure rider's safety, we have added knuckle protection.
Something so subtle that I didn't think would make such a difference is the extra material on the inside of the wrist. The added length helps with tucking the glove inside my sleeve for a more enjoyable ride.
Riding with these gloves have been wonderful! I went from 108 degree weather to 54 degree weather in a day and my hands were fine. Be it in super hot or chilly temps, these gloves will keep your hands protected and comfortable.
I could feel the handle bars and grip with no problem and don't require too much effort to break in. The gloves claim to be touch friendly and I can say that it's true! My phone has a glass screen protector and it responded to my gestures fine.
Yes, I'm fortunate to have gotten these gloves for free in return for an honest review. And here's my honest review: They're on sale right now for $13 and I think they are way worth it for the price. I think they are worth getting at their full price! I think overall they're under-priced for the value they provide! They're great and I look forward to rocking these for many years and rides to come.
When I bought my motorcycle almost 8 years ago, the thought, "oh this tank is oddly shaped and has a cowl - I will need to find a tank bag to fit" did not occur to me. So when I tried to transfer my magnetic tank bag that I had for my old bike and there was no way to secure it, I just accepted that I would bungee everything to my back seat when necessary, wear a fanny pack, and tuck things into my pockets.
Fast forward to today, our club was given an opportunity to review the Viking Mini Tank Bag. I was worried that it would not go on securely on my bike - ya know, awkward shape and plastic cowl and all. I was pleasantly surprised.
The Mini Tank Bag is svelt with a low profile, a touch friendly clear pocket for even the largest of cell phones with an outlet for your wire headphone cord. The main pocket is large enough to fit a sandwich container and some snacks if you choose to pack your own lunch on the go. I love that it is made out of high ballistic nylon. It definitely feels sturdy and will weather the elements. I just love the overall style. It's sporty and the right size for my Kawi.
I will admit, since I wasn't solely relying on the magnets and needed to strap this bag down on my tank, I downloaded the instructions (below) to make sure I was doing it right. Remember, I haven't used a tank bag in almost a decade, lol.
First thing I tested was just how "friendly" the clear pocket was. I have a glass protector over my phone and even inside the pocket, my screen registered my touch just fine. AWESOME! I can finally see and not just hear my GPS when I travel too!
Riding around with the tank bag on felt very secure. I didn't have any issues with it. Zipping the pockets open and shut with my Viking gloves on (separate review to follow) was fairly easy. I wasn't frantically messing with my bag while at stop lights. It was easy open and shut and zipper tabs are big enough.
The Mini Tank Bag delivers a lot of value. It's convenient, well made, and stylish. It looks great on both a sport bike and on cruisers. While I avoided tank bags for the longest, especially because of the way my bike is, I am so glad I gave the Mini Tank Bag a try.
Call To Action!

------ TO USE OUR SCRIPTED MESSAGE, CUT / PASTE THE MESSAGE BELOW -----
Motorcycle Profiling is a real and pervasive problem in California. The historical pattern of evidence is documented and irrefutable. Individuals and groups of motorcyclists are regularly the victims of selective enforcement solely based on their appearance, not their conduct even during funerals, political and charitable events. Motorcycle Profiling is Unconstitutional: Profiling relies on appearance to establish suspicion as opposed to the legal requirement of conduct. A motorcycle pretexual stop may lead to the motorcyclist being detained, cited, assets being seized, or both. The costs to the state and local municipalities, as well as to law-abiding citizens of not addressing the issue of motorcycle profiling continue to mount as the problem gets worse. A Senate Resolution (SR 41 - Senator Caballero, Author) seeks to create statewide awareness of the issue and open doors of communication between local and state law enforcement agencies and the motorcycle community. This resolution models the language used in Congressional Bills (S. Res. 154) passed the U.S. Senate with unanimous consent on December 11, 2018 and (H. Res 366) introduced in the House on April 30, 2021. As a taxpayer, voter and concerned constituent of your district, I respectfully request your support and commitment to passing this resolution as a positive step in creating awareness and establish a coalition of concerned citizens to work though the issue with law enforcement.
Thank you for your consideration and action on this issue important civil rights issue.
